The real voyage of discovery consists in not seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes. Marcel Proust (1871-1922)

Team Effectiveness Coaching

Working together more effectively as a team
In teamwork disruptions can occur time and again. The core task of the team drifts out of focus. The team is working less and less to its full potential and becomes unable to develop further and to adapt to evolving conditions. Team effectiveness decreases. However, such a development often begins gradually and goes unnoticed at first. Team members silently lose their satisfaction and motivation. Perceptions of team members often remain in the unconscious and are not articulated at all or only too late. Conflicts which are an indispensible source for team development either escalate or are suppressed – and in both cases block team success.

AURES CORDIS Team Effectiveness Coaching encourages new ways of thinking and addresses concerns, fears and conflicts. Team members recognise new opportunities and gain new commitment, dedication and motivation.

How I work
Effective team development is adaptive work. Team dynamics are highly unpredictable. Accordingly, the team coach is required to deal competently with unforeseen situations. Because teams learn sustainably when the unexpected and unfamiliar becomes visible.

I therefore work in a process-orientated and strongly situational manner instead of focusing on elements that have been prepared in detail. My approach is guided by the shared task and the shared culture of the team. My interventions are focussing on these.

Bringing the unconscious to the surface
In addition to the factual dimension of team task and processes I work intensively with my clients on the social dimension: team culture and experience. These include individual and collective unconscious experiences, expectations and behavioural patterns.

As an experienced team coach I observe very closely the unconscious processes within a team. I support team members in clearly articulating their needs and perceptions, enabling them to use potential conflicts positively for both their individual and collective development in line with their shared task.

In this way, I support a team process from which a common and robust understanding of the team task and the shared experience of a bonding and motivating team culture emerge.
